Business Loan Portfolio Analyst
Job Overview
PenFed is hiring a (Hybrid) Business Loan Portfolio Analyst at our Penn Station, New York service center. The primary purpose of this position is to provide analysis on the Business Loan Portfolio in accordance with Federal regulations and PenFed Board of Director Policies, procedures, and standards. The incumbent will be responsible for developing reporting, documentation, and written/verbal analysis with the intent of mitigating risk and maximizing value of the portfolio.

- Complete a thorough analysis of Business Loan’s cash flows including historical and projections based on the financial information provided by the Borrower and third parties.
- Assist Portfolio Management and Underwriting team with data, financial modeling, and analysis to support workouts, modifications, and deal opportunities.
- Monitor assigned portfolio for compliance and early identification of risks.
- Prepare and present annual and quarterly asset reports for the assigned portfolio as required.
- Work with members, internal PenFed staff, and external partners to provide rationale and explanations for business lending decisions and ongoing issues related to servicing and accounting.
- Provide early due diligence feedback to management on loan opportunities- including credit reports, data tree, UCC filing, ERIS and Lexus Nexus reporting.
- Analyze and review documentation related to Business loans including loan documents, inter-creditor agreements, leases, etc. with an emphasis on accuracy, legitimacy, and completeness of required documentation.
- Collaborate with other departments and/or institutions to corroborate or collect information related to business lending decisions.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of regulatory direction related to credit union compliance for lending in the business loan space.
- Review policies, procedures, and guidelines and makes recommendations for improvement.
Qualifications
Equivalent combination of education and experience is considered.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience, preferred experience three (3) to five (5) years of experience, at a banking or financial services institution focused on business lending or investments.
- Specific Experience with Analysis for business loans, including direct and syndicated transactions preferred.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret financial statements, operating statements, rent rolls, and other reports.
- Strong financial modeling and Excel skills.
- Argus experience preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook) at a level that allows independent work.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position will not supervise employees.
Licenses and Certifications
There are no additional certifications required.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to an indoor office setting with moderate noise. The employee may also be required to travel for market tours and site inspections as needed across the United States.

Travel
Ability to travel to various worksites and be on-call may be required including market tours and property inspections.
Salary Range
$80,400 - $90,000
