Job Overview
PenFed is hiring a (Hybrid) Sr. Manager, Product Technology at our Tysons, Virginia location. The primary purpose of this position is to lead Mortgage Technology team(s) in the development, delivery and support of innovative technical and business solutions and practices that advance PenFed strategic initiatives and objectives. This includes Home Loans division objectives and standards aligned with PenFed strategy. The manager will promote the engagement and professional development of employees within assigned responsibility areas.
The primary purpose of this job entails running a team that implements programs and independently overseeing complex projects that comprise of multiple systems with significant impact across multiple business lines.

- Build and contribute to a positive, team-oriented culture.
- Guide the team while facilitating a healthy team dynamic with respect to priorities and scope.
- Lead the execution and delivery of business projects and governance in alignment with business strategies.
- Build relationships and trust with the relevant business stakeholders and foster transparent communication.
- Use metrics and techniques, such as root cause analysis, to radiate continuous improvement throughout the organization.
- Facilitate proactive and collaborative communication throughout the organization regarding business requirements and relevant changes.
- Minimize risks and serve as an escalation point for any issue that cannot be resolved within the established teams.
- Collaborate with Architecture resources to define and build solutions aligned to the reference architecture and drive the team to be prepared to present thoughtful solutions at EACOE, TRB, DRB and other forums as needed.
- Build and maintain working relationships with dependent internal teams, vendors, and other departments.
- Collaborate and work cross-functionally with senior management and program stakeholders to create, prioritize, and define key strategic and tactical initiatives and resolve project roadblocks.
- Support planning ceremonies and facilitate coordination activities between all the teams in CBTO and Home Lending departments.
Manage project conflicts, challenges, and dynamic business requirements to keep operations running at a high performance.
Advocate Project Management best practices throughout the organization.
Lead the team to become high-performing and high-trust.
Provide strategic guidance and oversight to team members to assist with project delivery.
Develop and maintain budget, resource plan, and forecasts to ensure teams stay on track within allocated funding.
Lead project estimation activities to assist in forecasting corporate budget.
Publish bi-weekly team status reports and financials.
Other duties as necessary to deliver organizational and team projects and improve the overall success of delivery across the organization.
Qualifications
Equivalent combination of education and experience is considered.
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field required, master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of ten (10) years’ experience performing product, project and platform management duties preferably in the credit union / banking industry or a financial services environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proven track record of facilitating positive team dynamics to help maximize team performance.
- Prior experience in influencing, motivating, and mobilizing mid to large teams and business partners.
- Demonstrated experience successfully delivering complex projects, leading teams, and interacting with the highest levels of executive leadership.
- Effective time management, problem solving and multi-tasking skills.
- Strong knowledge of the technologies, methodologies and practices in the Home Lending space.
- Salesforce experience a plus.
- Experience using A.I. tools preferred.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position will supervise contractors.
Licenses and Certifications
- PMP preferred.
- SAFe or Agile Certifications a plus
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to an indoor office setting with moderate noise.

Travel
Ability to travel to various worksites and be on-call may be required.
